This roof rack system allows for mounting almost anything, freeing up valuable bed space for other trip essentials. Comes coated with a 2 stage satin textured black powdercoat over durable zinc primer finish.
We recommend using paint protection film under the front and rear fairings, where they contact the vehicle. This will prevent dirt and debris from scratching the paint over time.

Q
Jeff Tamietti • 05/09/2020, 11:48:52 AM
What is the weight capacity of the Tundra crew max roof rack?
A
05/11/2020, 2:36:52 PM
Toyota rates the Tundra roof with a factory rack at "Max load 165 lbs evenly distributed." Our rack itself can handle significantly more weight than that, and we've had 250lbs dynamic weight on it without issue, static capacity is certainly well above that. All these weight will be at your discretion as they are above Toyota "recommended" capacities. If you need more information please contact us directly at [email protected]

If I want to buy this rack and the awning mount, what is the widest awning you could mount on this roofrack using the mounts you sell? 2017 CrewMax
A
03/04/2022, 2:04:39 PM
The mounts don't really dictate the awning width, you could mount whatever awning you want depending on how much overhang past the mounts the awning manufacturer is OK with. This rack is about 66" long and 40" on center would be your widest spacing for our rack mounts, for reference.

Q
John G • 09/17/2022, 11:44:48 PM
can you run kc hilites with this rack and the 40" cutout? i want my tundra to look like marty mcflys truck on steroids lmao
A
09/28/2022, 3:21:28 PM
In theory you could run the non-light bar fairing and attach the round KC lights to the front crossbar pointed upwards (with some kind of bracket) but that would make things pretty tall.
Q
Burley • 10/10/2022, 6:51:19 PM

Q

What are the side slots width & height, looking to mount Rigid lights to the sides but need to know the size before I order this rack, and lights.
A
03/13/2023, 11:54:40 AM
All the slots are 4" wide. We offer a light kit for the side rails here: https://www.victory4x4.com/product/VRKLED.html The Rigid Industries LED Scene Lights part 86610 are 4.8" wide, so you may have to drill into the side rails to mount them.
Q
Alex • 09/27/2023, 2:37:22 PM
Does this come with the crossbars or do all of those need to be bought separately?
A
10/19/2023, 11:41:22 AM
Yes, the crossbars are included with the roof rack.
Q
Matt • 02/25/2024, 7:06:36 PM
What are the black plugs included in the kit for? There is no mention of them on the instructions or video.
A
05/31/2024, 10:47:01 AM
The included hardware packs are used for all of our roof racks and will include some hardware that is not used.
Q
Gary Penna • 04/26/2024, 6:02:54 PM
Does this rack require you to drill into the roof?
A
06/20/2024, 11:17:45 AM
Yes, there is drilling required to mount this rack.
Q
Jaime • 09/24/2024, 1:24:49 PM
So your rack looks great! I have a 2014 Tundra SR5 double cab. I'm assuming this rack will fit. If I order with the light cut-out will the Baja Design S8 20" light bar fit properly? If the answer is yes, I have questions regarding the various patterns. I need light while driving mostly in the desert, not racing. What are the differences between the driving/ combo and the wide driving?
A
10/23/2024, 4:09:34 PM
This rack will fit a 2014. It is however designed to fit a 40" lightbar rather than a 20". If you are looking at the BD 40" S8, the Driving/combo pattern would project a bit further an a bit more narrow than the wide driving option.

Installation was not easy. Getting the rivnuts installed plumb was a challenge even with a dedicated rivnut tool. There is a good chance rivnuts are just hard or hard for me. Getting them straight and in position was a challenge for me on my kayak as well. I learned about drilling into metal that night. After things started off poorly I ended up getting some drill lube and going slow with high pressure and having much better results. One of my rivnuts was not straight enough to get the provided bolts all the way down into. I picked up a shorter one to replace it and was able to get it in. That was about 9 months ago.
Since then, I have loved having my roof rack. I can throw a couple kayaks up there and head to the river. Currently I have a solar panel mounted to power my fridge. The t-nut connections are so strong and flush, I am very pleased!
Note From Victory 4x4: Thanks for the long term review! Sorry to hear about the rivnut install, they can sometimes be a bit of a bear, but glad to hear you got through it. Any other issues please don't hesitate to reach out.
Carl V (AZ) | February 3rd, 2022
Awesome built and looking roof rack. The quality of the rack and its components is tip-top and it looks badass! Assembly and installation were mostly a breeze- as others mentioned the rivnuts take a little patience and time. I found that using a screw driver or screw gun to tighten the rivnuts worked much better than a ratchet. The screw driver or screw gun with a socket allow you to apply pressure down through the center of the rivnut making install much easier than with the socket. Hope that helps. Enjoy!!

Love the rack! It’s exactly what I was looking for, something for my weekend excursions and also during my week as a hands on contractor. I paired the cab rack with the basket rack on my Leer shell.
Install was just as expected and took about an hour. The only “rub” was the supplied bit. I’m always skeptical of supplied tools because 90% of the time they suck. After attempting the first hole and after the pilot, I tossed the bit for a $20 bit, installed the bit stop and was quickly back on track.
Again, love this rack and it’s not just for show, it’s gets a work out. My .02 here is loose the supplied bit and maybe shave off the cost of the bit.
I’m glad I chose Victory over the others.

I'm very happy with my purchase of this roof rack. Assembly was straight forward. Installation was a bit scary, drilling holes in the roof is worrysome. I wish it came with proper sealant, but I did purchase my own through 3M (please don't use silicon). Although it does come with a homemade rivnut tool, a beefier version would also be nice. It's definitely easier to install with the help of a friend. In the end I'm very pleased with the look and function at this price point. I've mounted some storage boxes for recovery gear as well as an awning and occasionally climb on top to adjust my roof top tent (not attached to this rack).
Cory (Oregon) | September 24th, 2020
First time ever installing a rack like this. Was a little put off a first about drilling into my truck and first time drilling into metal. Slow and steady is key I quickly learned and use some wd40 as lube. The rack has been awesome for putting my kayak on the roof and is much quieter than existing Yakima racks I've had.
The best advice I can give is don't use the tool they provide to install the rivnuts. You've already spent $800 on a rack, spend an extra $40-$50 at amazon and get a rivnet tool (I wish Victory gave you the option to add it onto the order). Anyways it's a must unless you like coming up with new swear words as the bolt starts to strip and have to scramble around town trying to find another one.
Other then that, install is pretty easy if your comfortable with a drill and tape.

This thing makes the truck! Got the light bar cutout and I can’t wait to add the light! Well made and instructions were clear and precise
Note From Victory 4x4: Thanks for the order and review!
Blane Maddox (Virginia) | December 17th, 2019
Great rack, simple use with any accessory. Install was a bit difficult as the ribnut tool is cheap and stripped the head off the hex bolt. A threaded rivet gun made this job so much easier. Quiet rack and excellent customer service, my Tundra has Victory 4x4 products all over it!
Note From Victory 4x4: Sorry about that tool. Glad you got it handled! We wish we could include a rivnut drill tool in every kit :)
Brad Jansen (Colorado) | December 7th, 2019
Purchased the roof rack for my 2018 Tundra Limited and it fix great. I went together as advertised, watching the video was a great benefit. I was a little apprehensive about drilling into my roof, but after drilling one hole, the others weren't a problem. Hint use the sized drill bit that comes with the kit, the threaded inserts fit that hole size perfect. It will take 2 people to lift the rack up to the roof to mark the holes and then down and then for finial installation. Best to have a step ladder to get the leverage for drilling. Total assembly and installation is about 2 hours with a few beers. Awesome rack!
Note From Victory 4x4: Thanks for the order, glad you like the rack!
RJ Coleman (West Virginia) | January 15th, 2020
The rack itself is fantastic, went together in a very short amount of time, even drilling into the truck went fairly quickly.
I found issues in the tool used to set the rivnuts. One, if you aren't steady, they can be misaligned. No fault of Victory on that, just be careful. On the fifth hole, the bolt's threads for the tool completely just shredded themselves at the bottom, which meant I couldn't set any more rivnuts. Monday morning, I called Victory, and they were very helpful in finding the exact bolt name, picked some extras up, and I was done.
Incredibly great rack, feels/looks solid(especially due to using steel feet!), and cheaper than the competition. Very happy with it!
Note From Victory 4x4: Sorry for the troubles, but glad we got you squared away. Thanks for the order!
Ryan Boggs (Wisconsin) | March 7th, 2021
Great rack. Quality product. Reason for the mid level review is their install instructions. Going by their list and video is a decent starting point, but actual kit is different than what is sent to you. Their kit for installing the nut inserts is simply a zinc bolt with a 5/16” rod coupling for a sleeve. Please check what you get as a 5/8” wrench is too big. The kit I received required a 7/16” open ended wrench and I purchased different nut inserts from the hardware store. Also received the different rear end cap piece than what is needed. Waiting to hear back from victory. Be sure to check all parts before installing. Although they don’t really have a decent label or model number displayed nor a thorough detailed parts list. Once I was able to figure out the differences install went ok. Just a bit frustrating that what was given me was different than what they indicated. Always a bit disconcerting especially for a product you're drilling through your trucks roof for.
