In the second gen install, it seems to me that the back of the panel (the side closest to the tail end of the truck) would be tight up against the center console if no spacer is used. Is that the case? i.e.Is there enough clearance between the panel and console to actually use that side of the panel? And if not, could you use the spacers on that side?
A
07/13/2020, 5:03:20 PM
You can use the spacer there if you like, yes.

What on this is known to cause cancer?
A
01/25/2021, 11:34:30 AM
California regulation requires us to put that notice on any product that may contain components that cause cancer. Since this product contains powder coat with a zinc primer, we erred on the side of caution. Technically the powder coat is a risk only when the actual powder is airborne, not after it's baked, unless you plan on eating the finish we guess... regardless, we'd rather not get sued by California.

I've got two questions: 1) What kind of holster are you showing in the advertisement pictures? and 2) It looks like there are some consistently negative reviews lately (early 2021) regarding the hardware that's included... any plans to address that?
A
02/08/2021, 11:48:56 AM
1) There are different holsters posted, but all are just cheapies from Amazon. 2) We have had very few actual customer issues with the hardware, but some have a perception that it's not strong enough. The solution would be to source some small machine screws, washers, and nuts; then disassemble the console to install these panels with that hardware. That install would be up to the customer, but there is no downside to trying it our way first.

Left-hand draw outside the waistband Kydex holsters seem to work great.

If you plan on mounting a handgun, plan on upgrading the attachment points. The screws supplied pulled out of the center console almost immediately. Anything more than a knife or small pouch I wouldn't plan on using the supplied screws.
Note From Victory 4x4: Jonathan, sorry to hear the screws aren't holding for your needs. You can always use longer machine screws with washers and nuts from inside the console. The install process is a little longer since you have to pull part of the console apart, but if you are looking to mount larger/heavier items on the panels it's always an option. On our shop truck a polymer 9mm, multitool, flashlight, and some other small items has not been an issue with the screws. If you are having any other issues, please don't hesitate to reach out.

The material, look, and the supposed function of the product is honestly. The looks of the product both not installed, and installed are pretty sharp as well. My problem with the purchase though wasn't so much the product, but the hardware they inckude with it. I managed to install this in minutes, and it only took one object trying to attach to the molle panel before the hardware was ripped out of my center console, and i was basically left with a pencil sized hole in it. I didn't bother trying to rescrew it into a different portion of my console because I was already upset. If I could make one suggestion on how to improve this, id say try and emulate the Rago Fabrication one instead where they use a nut and bolt method to secure it, instead of a flmisy screw that will rip out the first time you try to mount a pistol holster onro it. Like i said at the start; great product, but poor execution on install.
Note From Victory 4x4: An optional install would be to use machine screws, washers, and nuts all the way through the console. This would take a bit longer, but if you are looking for maximum security of the panel it may be worth it to you. We haven't had issues with the screws we provide on our shop vehicles however.

Other manufacturers of similar products have figured out that the passenger side requires a slight bend to fit properly, both of these were flat. This was for third gen MT, Access Cab Tacoma. Return process was painful, took a month to get RMA, and had to hound them to get refund processed. Added one star for build quality though, top notch, too bad they didn't fit. As another reviewer noted, fasteners looked weaksauce, I would've been worried about them staying put long term. Too bad return process was such a PITA, would've liked to buy some sliders from these guys, but now I'm a little nervous.
Note From Victory 4x4: Very sorry for the troubles with your MOLLE panels. If there is anything else we can do for you, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected]

Item shipped in black trash bag in a box. Arrived damage, no surprise.
Lots of sharp edges along cutouts, easily cuts fingers/webbing.
When clipping in a 1.5" holster the fit is very loose and the holster flops around.
Installation hardware is a bit iffy too. I have very little confidence in the longevity of the mounting solution.
I expect more from Victory.
Note From Victory 4x4: That doesn't sound like how our products leave the facility. It may have been damaged and repacked by the shipper? Please contact us so we can replace the item for you. Sorry for the hassle!
