Q Matt • 07/13/2020, 5:28:46 AM Does this product work on a manual transmission truck? I have a 16 Double cab, short bed 6 speed manual truck, and I have noticed some products are not compatible with both manual and auto truck frames, mainly I have another brand sliders that were supposed to bolt up to the trans cross member but were 3-4 inches off. So I want to make sure that's not going to be a problem here as the pictures show it attaching to that same cross member.
A 07/15/2020, 1:48:15 PM We haven't test fit a full skid group on a manual truck here at the shop, but the engine skid should be unaffected as we are mounting to the rear lower control arm / diff cross member, which is the same on all trucks. As far as the mid skid goes, it is designed for a trans cross member with a center line that is approximately 23" back from the center line of the rear lower control arm/diff cross member.
Q John Slotemaker • 09/06/2020, 11:07:36 AM Has there been any definitive answer on the manual transmission question? I would like to order the full set of skids, but only if they are fully compatible with the 2016 manual transmission.
A 09/09/2020, 3:26:39 PM The skids will work with a manual trans.
Q Adam • 10/22/2020, 11:05:37 AM With the skids, do you guys supply stainless hardware? If not, is that recommended?
A 10/26/2020, 5:00:50 PM We supply zinc coated hardware in most skid applications. You could use stainless, but be sure to use antiseize as well.
Q Mike • 01/23/2021, 1:48:12 AM Can you specify the hardware that this comes with on size and thread count? Just in case something is missing in the box that needs ordered? Specifically the nut and thread for the oil filter door

Q Parker Cunneen • 02/10/2021, 10:04:16 PM Can you change oil without dropping the skid plate?
A 02/15/2021, 12:52:47 PM Yes
Q CC MAC • 03/05/2021, 6:07:14 PM I might have missed this answer somewhere but do you make a skid set that works with or does this one work with a truck with a drop bracket lift? I have an 05 dcsb TRD OR with DBS 6” lift. The diff skid that came with kit is quite stout but I’m concerned about from and mid protection. Thanks
A 03/08/2021, 1:18:58 PM We do not.
Q Ben Weber • 06/14/2021, 11:18:46 PM What are the deminsions of the skid plate?
A 06/25/2021, 12:17:08 PM Is there something specific we can help with? There are quite a few dimensions we could give you. Please contact our tech support team directly.
Q Gus • 07/14/2021, 2:13:02 AM Will the front skid Plate work with a differential drop kit?
A 07/23/2021, 11:15:25 AM You may have to space the front of the skid down.
Q Scot Davis • 10/23/2021, 10:27:06 PM 1. Does your Front and Transmission Skid Plates fit a Tacoma 3rd gen 4x2? I know some skids will only fit the 4x4 models. 2. Does the Transmission Skid cover the catalytic converters? Thanks, Scot
A 10/28/2021, 11:56:03 AM We have not tested on the 4x2 at this time. They cover slightly, but not enough to be considered cat protection.
Q Nate • 10/29/2021, 5:32:05 PM Do you make any skids for a 2018 tacoma with a 3 in procomp lift
A 12/14/2021, 6:15:29 PM Not with the drop bracket lift kit, we do not.
Q Strelok • 01/28/2022, 6:32:15 PM will this work with arb bull bar bumper?
A 03/04/2022, 2:40:36 PM Should fit fine.
Q David • 07/04/2022, 4:49:35 PM I have a 2020 Tacoma trd sport 4x4 with a bds 6 in lift. Do you make a front skid plate that will fit this application? Thanks
A 07/08/2022, 10:52:53 AM We do not have a skid that works with a drop-bracket lift.
Q James Wells • 09/24/2023, 6:39:40 PM The skid plate blocks the factory front jack location on the 2nd gen is the aluminum skid stout enough to jack truck up off of, or do you have to remove it ever time you need to jack truck up?
A 10/19/2023, 11:49:19 AM The engine skid is strong enough to jack the vehicle up from.
Q Michael Autore • 01/26/2024, 11:15:16 AM Can the front differential fluid be changed without dropping the skid plate?
A 07/17/2024, 4:04:41 PM The skid plate does not need to be removed in order to change the differential fluid.
Q Greg • 04/21/2024, 1:42:20 AM Do these skid plates Cover the catalytic converters?
A 06/06/2024, 4:05:01 PM It does not, you would want this skid instead. https://www.victory4x4.com/product/VT23SD-TRN.html

Solid skid plate but poorly designed
(Los Angeles) | August 14th, 2020
I bought this skid plate for my 2020 Tacoma. It feels very solid however the oil drain does not line up with the removable oil panel so the entire skid plate has to be removed for an oil change. This plate also does not work with a diff drop unless you use spacers where other skid plates on the market accommodate for a drop without requiring spacers.
Note From Victory 4x4: If the oil filter hole is on the wrong side, this skid may have been bent incorrectly, sorry! We will have customer service reach out to you. Also we require spacers for a diff drop so we can have more ground clearance under the skid, if we built in the diff drop clearance we would be giving up GC for people without them.
Excellent fit and Finish
(Wenatchee WA) | May 17th, 2020
Super sweet skid plate. Bomb proof, fits perfect and looks great. Cleans up the front underside look of the truck. I have a diff drop due to a lift and Brian helped me through the purchase process making sure I had what was needed to make this plate fit. Promt and accurate replies to my questions were awesome Thanks Victory for another great product!!!
Amazing built skid plate, crazy solid

Note From Victory 4x4: Thanks for the review!
Oil Drain Does Not Line Up on 2011
(Colorado) | May 20th, 2020
Just got it bolted on and it seems pretty solid and looks nice and clean. The holes were a little tricky to line up having to line up the bolts on the inside of the frame cross member, but it was doable. 3 Stars because the oil pan drain plug does not line up with the hole. It's off about 4" on my 2011. I ended up grinding an ugly hole in it so that I can access the drain plug. Also the bolt on window compartment doesnt go anywhere on my model. The oil filter is accessed from under the hood. Be aware this is not cleanly designed for all models in this 05-15 model range.
