I built this bumper for a person that does so much for everyone else. He is the president of TRAL (Tonto Recreation Alliance) and steps up to help us protect the Tonto National Forest. The bumper would have been easier had I had the SUV here, but I made due. Did a test fit after assembling the center section. The owner then told me the car had been in an accident. The front passenger quarter was dropped almost an inch. Had to do some custom fitting, and added a section of 1/4" plate to the mount. I have a problem with the mounting system itself though. The bolt holes are huge! I get the slots for adjustments, but the heads barely cover the holes. I added a 2" x 5" plate to tighen up the holes. Then there's an extra bracket for the mount to the frame. This was not created by an engineer. If it were in the instructions, I would know if our year erquired this part. I will leave the design itself alone here. So, I had to lay out, tack weld sections, and set up for a test fit. This involved removing the complete bumper and skin assembly. Test fit, adjust, an then reassemble the SUV. Then, complete the assembly, and weld for about 3 miles. Welded inside and out. After that, clean up the welds, as mine aren't perfect. Lastly, you have to find a good powder coater. Fortunately, I have Brik's Powder Coating and they did an AMAZING job! If I had the option, I'd buy the bumper done. Just install, and go out and play!
